    • Section 1: Introduction to ArtsEd Washington 

    • ArtsEd Washington (AEW or ArtsEd) is a grassroots nonprofit that advocates for quality and equitable arts education throughout Washington State. Founded in 1983 as the Washington Alliance for Arts Education, we have a rich history of collaborating with arts education leaders, and leading arts education advocacy efforts. 

      We envision an educational system in Washington State where every student experiences a high-quality arts education regardless of their background or circumstances.

       
      Mission-Alignment:       At ArtsEd Washington, we believe that diversity enriches our organization and makes us more effective in achieving our mission of providing equitable arts education to students throughout Washington State. We are committed to providing inclusive, accessible opportunities with our program members and with the communities we serve. 

      Washington has many organizations who support arts and/or education in different ways, and we are honored to collaborate with many of them on shared goals. Before applying, please be sure you feel aligned with AEW's unique Mission, Values, and programming.

    • Section 2: Community Ambassadors 

    • One of ArtsEd's newest opportunities for connection and leadership is the Community Ambassadors program. Ambassadors meet monthly via Zoom through the following month of May. 

      Each month, ambassadors will explore a variety of topics in breakout rooms, learning from each other and building relationships in real time. There are also optional Slack channels for more impromptu conversations.

      Ambassadors can come from any background. Common examples are:
      -School employee or retiree
      -College student studying arts and/or education
      -Parent/guardian of a student who loves the arts
      -Professional who partners with local school programs
      -Other liason-type roles in their local artistic and/or education communities

      For Ambassadors who want even more opportunities, there are additional options to train as a trainer of AEW materials, to represent AEW at in-person events including a $50 travel honorarium, to join committees with board members, and more!
