Chapter Picnic 2026

Join us on Saturday, August 1st from noon until sundown for a Chapter picnic for families and friends at Indian Wells Picnic Shelter in Shelton. You modest donation helps offset the costs of food and soft drinks and water. We'll provide the lunch and if there is enough we can do later day snacks. If you plan to stay until sunset you may want to bring dinner!

Indian Well State Park takes its name from a Romeo-and-Juliet-style Native American legend tied to the park's scenic waterfalls and the splash pool at their base — though the area was never actually used as a well. Set along the western bank of the Housatonic River, the park is a local favorite for boating, fishing, and swimming, and its shaded picnic grove at the water's edge is a perfect spot for a relaxed summer day.
