The mission of the Suzuki Music Association of California (SMAC) is to instill the teachings of Shinichi Suzuki into the hearts and minds of our students: that all children, in collaboration with parents and teachers, can develop high standards of achievement through love of music, self-confidence, discipline, and good work habits. We seek to nurture fellowship, growth, and community among teachers and students of California.

The Suzuki Music Program of Los Angeles (SMPLA) provides a positive environment where children find joy in making music together, where they are eager to learn and motivated to practice, and where they reach a high level of competence in the Suzuki repertoire and in other musical genres.

SUPPORT MUSIC EDUCATION IN LOS ANGELES

SMPLA is a Chapter of the Los Angeles Branch of the Suzuki Music Association of California (SMAC), a tax-exempt, registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving Suzuki communities throughout California. We bring Suzuki teachers, families and students together for institutes, graduations, play-ins, workshops, teacher training, masterclasses and more. SMAC accepts tax-deductible donations on behalf of SMPLA to provide scholarships for students attending SMAC-Sponsored programs, and financial aid for teachers seeking to further their training through the Suzuki Association of the Americas. 95% of all donations directed to SMPLA are distributed to the chapter directly, and 5% supports SMAC operations.
