Important Information

All requests to engage young people/their families from headspace are reviewed through an internal triage process to ensure participation opportunities are meaningful and aligned with our service scope, values, and best-practice standards.

Research requests may be subject to assessment by our Research Review Committee and a separate application process will apply. 

All consultations must “close the loop,” by ensuring participants receive feedback on the outcomes, decisions, and impacts resulting from their participation.

headspace and Lives Lived Well will not produce any marketing materials to promote the participation activity. Please be prepared to provide these materials ahead of consultation.

Please allow up to four weeks for your request to be reviewed and a response to be provided.

Reimbursement, Remuneration and Recognition

Reimbursement or remuneration for consumer and carer participation is considered best practice, particularly when young people are contributing their lived experience expertise to service design, governance, evaluation, research, policy development, consultation, or advisory activities. To align with best practice, we encourage appropriate reimbursement or compensation for participation in activities such as focus groups or lengthy questionnaires/surveys. Compensation may include monetary payment, gift vouchers, or another mutually agreed form of recognition.
