• DOMINIQUE MCKINNEY SUMMER LEAGUE

  • 2026 PARTICIPANT AGREEMENT AND CODE OF CONDUCT

  • League Purpose

  • The Dominique McKinney Summer League exists to bring the community together through competitive basketball, personal development, mentorship, leadership, and positive community engagement. The league may host structured panels and resource sessions throughout the season designed to help participants become better men, fathers, mentors, and members of the community.
  • Participation

  • Participation in this league is not a right. By signing this agreement, each participant confirms that they have read, understand, and agree to follow all league rules, organizer decisions, disciplinary policies, and standards of conduct.
  • 1. General Conduct and Sportsmanship

  • Participants must treat players, officials, organizers, volunteers, spectators, families, and community members with respect. Competitive emotion and appropriate basketball banter are understood; however, threats, harassment, intimidation, abusive behavior, and conduct that threatens the safety or integrity of the league are prohibited.
  • 2. Physical Violence — Immediate League Dismissal

  • Physical violence will be met with immediate dismissal from The Dominique McKinney Summer League for the remainder of the 2026 season.
  • Physical violence includes, but is not limited to, fighting, punching, kicking, headbutting, striking or attempting to strike another person, intentional shoving or aggressive contact outside normal basketball play, or any other intentional act of physical aggression. A participant involved in physical violence may be immediately removed from the competition and league premises. League organizers may contact park officials or law enforcement when appropriate.
  • 3. Verbal Aggression and Technical Fouls

  • Verbal aggression outside the limits of appropriate competitive banter will result in a technical foul. League officials and organizers have sole discretion to determine when conduct crosses the line into harassment, threats, intimidation, abusive language, or excessive aggression.
  • Two technical fouls in the same game will result in immediate removal from that competition and an automatic suspension from the participant's next scheduled league game.
  • 4. Attacks on Officials

  • Any attack on a referee or other game official that is deemed excessive, threatening, abusive, aggressive, or violent will result in immediate removal from the competition and an automatic suspension from the participant's next scheduled league game.
  • A second occurrence at any point during the 2026 season will result in removal from The Dominique McKinney Summer League for the remainder of the season. Participants may not threaten, follow, intimidate, touch, confront, or encourage others to harass an official before, during, or after a game.
  • 5. Drugs, Alcohol, Smoking, Vaping, and THC Products

  • There is zero tolerance for alcohol, illegal drugs, marijuana, smoking, vaping, THC pens, or other intoxicating substances inside the park gates or within close proximity of league activities. This rule applies to players, coaches, team personnel, and individuals associated with participating teams. Violations may result in immediate removal from the premises, game suspension, or dismissal from the league, depending on the circumstances and organizer determination.
  • 6. Respect for Families and Children

  • Participants understand that families and children attend league events. Every participant agrees to help maintain a safe, clean, and family-friendly environment and to avoid behavior that exposes others to violence, threatening conduct, drugs, alcohol, smoke, or excessive harassment.
  • 7. Organizer Authority

  • League organizers may issue warnings, technical fouls, ejections, one-game suspensions, multi-game suspensions, or league dismissal when conduct is unsafe, disruptive, abusive, or detrimental to the league. Unless modified through the appeal process below, disciplinary decisions remain in effect immediately.
  • 8. Appeal Process

  • Only a team captain may submit a formal written appeal on behalf of a suspended or dismissed participant. The appeal must include:
    • The name of the person involved;
    • The date, game, and details of the event;
    • The reason the disciplinary decision should be reconsidered;
    • Any supporting information or witness statements; and
    • Possible alternative disciplinary options to league removal.
    Submitting an appeal does not delay, pause, or cancel the original disciplinary action. League organizers will review the appeal and issue a final decision. The decision made after appeal review is final.
  • 9. Acknowledgment

  • By signing below, I confirm that I have read and understand this agreement. I agree to follow all rules and disciplinary policies of The Dominique McKinney Summer League. I understand that physical violence will result in dismissal from the league and that repeated or excessive verbal aggression, attacks on officials, drug or alcohol violations, or other misconduct may result in ejection, suspension, or league removal.
