    Position Summary

    Caregiver Supervisors lead and manage the field caregiver team to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery of personal care services. Supervisors oversee 15-25 field caregivers, conduct field visits and observations, manage performance and compliance, investigate concerns, and provide coaching and support. The role is critical to DAHCA's mission of compassionate, safe care and requires strong leadership, clinical knowledge, and interpersonal skills.

    Core Responsibilities

    •        Supervise and manage 15-25 field caregivers (daily operations, scheduling, assignments)

    •        Conduct monthly field visits to each caregiver; observe care delivery and interaction

    •        Monitor EVV compliance via AlayaCare; follow up on missing/late entries

    •        Assess caregiver competency and performance; provide coaching and feedback

    •        Manage performance issues through coaching, corrective action, and improvement plans

    •        Conduct complaint and incident investigations; escalate safety risks immediately

    •        Facilitate new caregiver onboarding and field orientation; verify competencies

    •        Submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports to Clinical Director on team performance

    •        Ensure compliance with California regulations (Title 22) and GCHP/Medi-Cal requirements

    •        Collaborate with Clinical Director, clients, families, and care coordinators on care quality

    Required Qualifications

    •        Valid California HCA or RN license (preferred: RN or LVN)

    •        Minimum 2 years direct home care or supervised care experience

    •        Current CPR/First Aid certification

    •        Negative tuberculosis screening

    •        Passed background clearance (DOJ/FBI fingerprinting)

    •        Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    •        Strong organizational and time management abilities

    •        Proficiency with computer systems (AlayaCare, email, basic software)

    •        Reliable vehicle and valid driver's license

    Preferred Qualifications

    •        Supervisory or management experience in healthcare setting

    •        Training in dementia care, disability support, or behavioral health

    •        Knowledge of Medi-Cal or managed care operations

    •        Bilingual (English + Spanish helpful for staff communication)

    •        Clinical Knowledge: Understanding of HCA scope, care standards, and safety protocols

    •        Leadership: Ability to motivate, coach, and support caregivers; model professional conduct

    •        Communication: Clear, respectful communication with staff, clients, families, and leadership

    •        Problem-Solving: Ability to assess issues, investigate concerns, and implement solutions

    •        Attention to Detail: Accurate documentation, compliance monitoring, quality oversight

    •        Equity and Compassion: Respect for diverse backgrounds; advocacy for client dignity

    •        Accountability: Ownership of team performance; responsibility for outcomes

    Performance Expectations

    •        Minimum 1 field visit per caregiver per month (documentation required)

    •        Weekly reporting to Clinical Director (Friday EOD)

    •        Monthly team performance report (EVV compliance %, incidents, corrective actions)

    •        Incident investigation completion within 10 business days

    •        EVV compliance monitoring: 100% of caregivers tracked; follow-up on violations

    •        Team attendance: punctuality, reliability, professional appearance
