    Empowering Choices: A Study on Sexual Health & Self-Efficacy Among Young Women

  • Sexual Self-Efficacy (SSE) refers to your confidence to negotiate safe sex, set firm boundaries, and direct your own sexual health (Rosenthal et al., 1991). Yet, cultivating this confidence can be challenging when traditional expectations often pressure young Filipinas to remain passive (Vibal et al., 2024). You are invited to participate in a research study focusing on evaluating sexual health practices and sexual self-efficacy among young adult women.

    This study explores how you navigate these cultural barriers. Your participation will help us understand how young women overcome these pressures to turn basic health knowledge into empowered, promotive, and protective actions.

    Your privacy is our utmost priority. In strict compliance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173), all data will be kept absolutely confidential. Your responses will be assigned an alphanumeric code (e.g., Respondent A1), ensuring your identity remains permanently separated from your survey data. In alignment with the Philippine HIV and AIDS Policy Act of 2018 (RA 11166), we implement an Extreme Redaction Protocol for any health-related documents, ensuring that all personally identifiable information is permanently removed and never stored.

    Voluntary Participation and Right to Draw
    Your participation in this study is entirely voluntary. You have the absolute right to decline participation or withdraw from the survey at any time without any penalty and without the need to provide a reason.   • MANDATORY: Extreme Redaction Protocol
    Do NOT upload any document containing your personal information. Before taking a photograph of your medical certificate or laboratory result, you must physically cover all Personally Identifiable Information (PII).

    1. Use opaque masking tape or black paper to completely obscure your full name, address, and patient ID number. You can also edit the photo to blur out or block these information.

    2. Take a photograph of the document ONLY once your identity is completely hidden.

    3. Ensure the photograph ONLY clearly shows the following three things:
      • The date of the document.
      • The official medical stamp.
      • The specific STI diagnosis.

    Data Privacy and Protection Guarantee
    In strict compliance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173) and the Philippine HIV and AIDS Policy Act of 2018 (RA 11166), your identity and medical status are absolutely protected. The redacted image you upload here will completely bypass cloud servers. It will be immediately transferred to a password-protected, encrypted offline storage drive accessible only to the principal researcher, and will be permanently deleted upon the conclusion of the study.
