Project Proposal

The proposal should include the following components:

 

1. Cover Page (1 page maximum)
   
   
   • Title
   • Names and affiliations of proposing team members [both Future Earth members and external partner(s), if any]. For Future Earth team members, include the entity affiliation.
   • Project summary (200 words maximum) – brief description of the project to be published on the webpage
     
     

2. Project Description (3 pages maximum).
   
   The project description must clearly identify and justify how the proposed work will advance an innovative sustainability solution.

   Background:
   Describe how the proposed project will mobilise the collaboration of different Future Earth networks, and how it will contribute to facilitating transformative research for sustainability; discuss how the project can advance Future Earth’s strategic goals, mission and vision.

   Work plan:
   Include a detailed work plan that outlines a timeline for the proposed work and identifies the project team and their roles. Describe how you will engage student researchers and scholars during the activities.

   Dissemination plan:
   List the expected deliverables and outcomes of the project with a proposed timeline on which they will be achieved. Detail the intended audience and how they will benefit from the project outcomes.
   
   

3. Budget (2 page maximum, provide an itemized proposal budget spreadsheet)
   
   
   • The project budget must be detailed and well-justified. The total project budget may not exceed 45,000 Euros. Projects with smaller budgets are accepted. Funds may be used for research support personnel (including students), materials, consultants, training and/or other project-related expenses. A maximum 10% overhead expense is permitted to be included as part of the total project budget.
