Supporting Families Who Have Experienced Trauma
Tuesday-Wednesday, October 20-21, 2026
1:00-3:00pm
Join presenters Tracy Plamann (Harbor House) and Cody Warner (End Abuse) for this remote training focused on the needs of parents and children.
This program is particularly relevant for those who work in a shelter environment. It encompasses communication skills and techniques, strategies to reduce stress, and ways to promote positive experiences within the family and the agency. It helps build capacity for domestic abuse advocates to support families who have lived through complex trauma.
These sessions will be followed by a "refresher" session on November 3, to ask questions, to share your real-life advocacy experiences, to support each other in what you’ve learned and practiced. Good days, bad days, all your experiences are welcome! (Register separately for this session, at https://form.jotform.com/261944311525151.)
Cost: Free for End Domestic Abuse Wisconsin Program Members and Programs Funded by the WI Department of Children & Families or DOJ Office of Crime Victim Services/$75 for all others.
