  • Meet Your Hosts

Welcome to the Empowered Women's Summit! We are Cheryl Sanders and Jonathan Field, and we are honoured to be your hosts for this special event. Together, we are passionate about helping women build confidence, develop practical self-defence skills, improve their health and wellness, and create lasting connections within our community of Northumberland County.

We are also the founders of the Empowered Kickboxing and Defence System. A Martial Arts style that specializes in self-defence and fitness conditioning. Utilizing combative defence techniques and concepts to neutralize attacks and create escape opportunities, while also combining kickboxing with physical fitness.

Cheryl holds a 3rd-Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo, a 3rd-Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo with the Kukkwion, and a 2nd-Degree Black Belt in Hapkido. Jonathan holds a 7th-Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo, a 3rd-Degree Black Belt in the Superfoot Kickboxing System, and a 2nd-Degree Black Belt in Hapkido.

Cheryl and Jonathan train regularly together in Kickboxing and Hapkido. They take their continuous learning in the martial arts and apply it to their classes and the Empowered Kickboxing and Defence System.

Cheryl and Jonathan will be conducting sessions on Self Defence Striking, Stand-Up Attack Defences, and Ground Self Defence and Escapes.
