• Raider Creator Foundation Scholarship Program Application

  • Thank you for your interest in becoming an official student content creator for Northwest Florida State College!

    The Raider Creator Scholarship provides students with the opportunity to gain real-world experience in photography, videography, storytelling, marketing, branding, and social media while helping share the NWFSC story. Raider Creators serve as ambassadors for the College by producing authentic, engaging content that highlights campus life, academics, athletics, student success, and special events.

    Selected students will receive a scholarship and work closely with the Office of Strategic Communications throughout the academic year.

  • Eligibility Requirements
    Recipients must:

    • Maintain enrollment as a full-time student (minimum of 12* credit hours per semester).
    • Commit to participating in the Raider Creator Scholarship Program for both the Fall and Spring semesters of the academic year.
    • Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8*.
    • Remain in good academic and disciplinary standing with the College.
    • Maintain at least one active public social media account with a minimum of 1,000* followers and a demonstrated history of creating original content.

    * Exceptions may be considered on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of Strategic Communications and the Scholarship Review Committee.

  • Content Creation Responsibilities
    Recipients are required to create and submit a minimum of two approved content pieces each week through the designated content management system by 5:00 p.m. every Friday.

    Required Weekly Deliverables
    Video Reel (approximately 15 per semester-1 per week)

    • Content may feature campus life, student experiences, athletics, academics, events, foundation initiatives or other approved topics.
    • Videos must be edited, captioned, and ready for publication.

    Event Coverage Assignment (approximately 15 per semester-1 per week)

    • Attend assigned or approved campus events.
    • Submit event photos and/or video assets within 24 hours of the event's conclusion.
    • Content must meet NWFSC quality standards and be suitable for institutional marketing and communications use.

    Special Projects (as Assigned)

    • Campaign and other support content
    • Foundation donor and scholarship recipient storytelling
    • Foundation event coverage
    • Alumni and donor spotlight features

    Planning and Communication Expectations
    Recipients are expected to:

    • Attend one weekly planning meeting with the Office of Strategic Communications (approximately one hour).
    • Participate in brainstorming sessions, content planning, and campaign development.
    • Maintain an assigned content calendar and meet all deadlines.
    • Communicate scheduling conflicts or other circumstances that may affect assignments as early as possible.

    Campus Engagement
    As representatives of Northwest Florida State College, recipients are expected to:

    • Serve as positive ambassadors for the College both on campus and online.
    • Promote the College in a professional and respectful manner through personal and official social media activity.
    • Participate in photos, videos, interviews, and other marketing or promotional opportunities.
    • Attend assigned College and Foundation events, including
    • Commencement, some of which may occur during evenings or weekends.
    • Be available to create content during daytime, evening, and weekend events as needed.
    • Maintain reliable access to a smartphone capable of capturing high-quality photo and video content suitable for social media.

    Professional Standards
    Recipients are expected to:

    • Conduct themselves professionally in person and online.
    • Treat students, faculty, staff, alumni, donors, and community members with courtesy and respect.
    • Follow all College policies, procedures, branding guidelines, and the Student Code of Conduct.
    • Protect confidential or sensitive information encountered through the program.
    • Wear attire appropriate for assigned events and activities.
      Properly care for and return any College-issued equipment or materials.

    Social Media Expectations
    Recipients are expected to:

    • Follow and stay informed through Northwest Florida State College's official social media channels.
    • Engage with official College content when appropriate.
    • Create authentic, engaging content that showcases the student experience at NWFSC.
    • Share College-related content on their personal social media platforms when appropriate while maintaining authenticity and transparency.
    • Represent the College positively and responsibly in all public-facing digital spaces.


    All content created as part of the Raider Creator Scholarship program becomes the property of Northwest Florida State College and may be used in marketing, communications, advertising, publications, websites, and social media channels.

  • Scholarship Requirements and Continuation
    Failure to maintain academic eligibility, fulfill assigned responsibilities, submit required deliverables, attend required meetings, or uphold professional standards may result in probation, suspension, or forfeiture of scholarship funding.

    Scholarship Benefits
    Recipients will receive:

    • A $3,000 annual scholarship ($1,500 per semester for Fall and Spring)
    • Hands-on experience in marketing, communications, photography, videography, and social media

  • TikTok Acknowledgement

    Northwest Florida State College is subject to State of Florida information technology security requirements that prohibit access to TikTok and other designated prohibited applications on College-owned devices and the College's networks. As a result, TikTok may not be used on College-issued equipment or while connected to College internet or Wi-Fi, and it may not be used to create or publish official College content.

  • The Raider Creator Scholarship is designed to provide students with meaningful professional experience while helping tell the story of Northwest Florida State College through the first-hand experience of our students.
