Welcome to the Louisiana High School Athletic Association Year-Long Media Credential Application Form.
To request year-long media credentials for LHSAA State Championships please complete the appropriate sections below and submit.
A year-long media credential will allow a you to enter all LHSAA State Championships without having to register for credentials throughout the year.
*In order to qualify for year-long LHSAA Media Credential, you must be a current member and or join the Louisiana Sports Writers Association. Please provide proof of membership below. Membership with the LSWA does not guarantee a year-long credential. Click here to learn more about an LSWA annual membership.*
LHSAA Permanent Credential Policy
Credentials are issued based on the following priorities and guidelines:
Eligibility:
To be eligible for a permanent media credential, individuals must meet the following criteria:
-Employed by a recognized media organization, including print, digital, or broadcast outlets.
-Have a proven record of covering multiple high school sports or relevant athletic events.
-Demonstrate a commitment to ethical reporting practices and adhere to professional journalistic standards.
Process:
Media professionals seeking a permanent media credential must follow the application process outlined below:
Submit the below completed application form, which includes personal information, contact details, and employer information.
-Include a letter of assignment from the employer, stating the intent to cover LHSAA State Championship events.
-Provide examples of previous sports coverage or relevant work samples.
-Submit the application within the designated timeframe specified by the LHSAA.
-A professional headshot
-Include mailing address for credential delivery.
Evaluation/Approval:
Applications will be evaluated by the LHSAA. The LHSAA will assess each application based on the following criteria:
-Professional experience and qualifications.
-Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of high school athletics.
-Compliance with ethical reporting practices.
-Previous coverage of LHSAA events.
*If your application is approved for year-long media credential, you will not be required to apply for media credentials for the LHSAA sports year*
*If you are not approved for year-long media credential, you may still apply for single state championship media credentials*
*LHSAA Member School Students / LHSAA Member School Faculty are not eligible for year-long media credential*
