In an effort to strengthen members' leadership skills and reflect the values ODTUG strives to embody, we're pleased to open applications for participation in the ninth cohort of the ODTUG Leadership Program. This training series covers leadership styles, effective communication, and best practices in mentoring, team building, goal setting, and accountability.
Application & Selection
Applications are reviewed by the ODTUG Leadership Program Committee and a liaison from the Board of Directors. Follow-up interviews will be conducted before a final cohort of 4–6 participants is confirmed. There is no application fee. However, accepted participants are required to become paid Individual members of ODTUG.
Program Structure
All Leadership Committee meetings are held virtually. Cohort introductions and onboarding will take place in September; this first session is mandatory and will be used to set the group's ongoing meeting cadence. Throughout the program, participants will work together on a project to present to the Board of Directors at ODTUG Kscope, where graduates will also be recognized. Attendance at Kscope is required.
Commitment
Participants may miss no more than two sessions. By applying, you're committing to devote the time and resources needed to complete the program — missing more than two sessions, for any reason, may result in a request to withdraw.
Who Should Apply
The ODTUG Leadership Program is a good fit if you:
- Want to advance into a leadership position along your career track
- Were recently promoted and want to improve your effectiveness in your current role
- Are looking to switch careers or transition into technical management
This program isn't designed for seasoned technical managers, graduates of corporate leadership programs, or veteran team leaders — you likely already have the skills we aim to build in our participants.
