  • Statement of Faith and Religious Convictions

We believe that the Bible as originally written, was verbally and plenarily inspired, is the product of Spirit-controlled men, and, therefore, is truth without any mixture of error. We believe that "all Scripture is given by inspiration of God,” by which we understand the whole Bible is inspired in the sense that holy men of God “were moved by the Holy Spirit” to write the very words of Scripture.

There is one true God, eternally existing in three persons--Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ lived a sinless life and voluntarily atoned for the sins of men by dying on the cross as their substitute. Jesus Christ rose from the dead in the same body, though glorified, in which He lived and died. Jesus Christ ascended bodily into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God the Father, where He, the only mediator between God and man, continually makes intercession for His own.

Man is created in the image of God. All have sinned disobeying God; thus, man is alienated from His creator. That historic fall brought all mankind under divine condemnation. Man’s nature is corrupted, and he is totally unable to please God. Every man is in need of salvation by regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit.

The salvation of man is entirely a work of God’s free grace and is not the work, in whole or in part, of human works or goodness or religious ceremony. God imputes His righteousness to those who put their faith in Christ alone for their salvation,
and thereby justifies them forever in His sight.

God admonishes His people to assemble together in local churches for worship, for participation in the ordinances of believer’s baptism and the Lord’s Table, for edification through the Scriptures and for mutual encouragement.

    Religious Convictions for Home-Based Education

We believe that the Lord expects us to be responsible for the education of our children. Ephesians 6:1 instructs parents to bring up their children “in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.” As far as the Bible is concerned, the
function of transmitting truth and educating youth belongs to the home and church.

We believe that parents, as they are given sound instruction through the local church, can best teach their children about salvation through Christian education (2 Timothy 3:10, 14-16). We believe that our academic education should be based on the values found in God’s Word as it illuminates every part of life.

We believe parents know their children best and can work closely with their needs and interests. The purpose of this co-op is to come alongside parents to help them with a curriculum that affirms the truth of the Bible while teaching core course requirements for high school.

  • Community Standards and Policies

    • Admission: This is a Christian homeschool community. Our goal is to come alongside parents to help encourage and strengthen the family. Participation in CBC Upper School Co-Op is completely voluntary. Joining this community means that you agree to follow the community standards and policies outlined in this application.
    • Phones: Students may not have cell phones on campus. If they bring them into the building, they must be checked in at study hall. Parents may call Charlotte Cushman at 843-592-1502 with any emergencies during the school day. Any student with a phone will have it taken.
    • Arrival: Students with first period classes and parents that are monitoring or teaching should arrive on campus by 9:00 am to give time to be in assembly. Assembly begins at 9:08. Classes begin at 9:15. Be on time for class if you start later in the day.
    • Leaving Campus: Students may not leave campus for lunch unless they are with their parents. Other early dismissals must be arranged in advance by parents in coordination with administrators.
    • Behavior: This is a Christian Co-Op. Our goal is to honor the Lord and show honor to each other. Students will be attentive and respectful to the instructor and other students. Disruptions in class are unacceptable. A verbal warning will be given, but students will be dismissed from class if behavior persists.
    • Required Materials: Parents and students need the ability to access a computer, the Band App, Google Docs, and Google Classroom to complete assignments and communicate with instructors.
    • Dress Code: No shorts. Jeans, pants, khakis, and other pants are fine. Dresses and skirts at or past the knees are fine. Leggings with shirts that are long and cover your bottom are also fine. No inappropriate, obscene, or objectionable t-shirts. No undergarments may be showing. No tight shirts, plunging necklines, cropped shirts, halter tops, or spaghetti straps. Students violating the code will be warned and asked to change. Continued non-compliance with dress code will result in dismissal from co-op.
    • Restroom Policy: Students will use the restroom on Evelyn's side of the Children's Building on Tuesday mornings. THEY MAY NOT use the same restroom as Elementary Co-Op. Otherwise they will use the restroom closest to their classroom. Adult men may not use the restroom in the children's building but must use the main building.
    • Kitchen Policy: No kitchen use at Co-Op. Pack a lunch that does not need to be heated.
    • Conflict Resolution: Parents should go to the teacher first, outside of classroom time, knowing that there are two sides to every conflict if there is a question about the work or behavior of a student or a conflict in the classroom. If it cannot be resolved, please contact Charlotte Cushman.
    • Sick/Absent and Academic Policies: When students are sick or absent, they are responsible for their work. If an assignment is due, it must be submitted early or by the due date in Google Classroom. If you schedule activities, sports, or extra-curriculars during a co-op day, work is due prior to the absence or on that day like the rest of the students. Students who miss ten assignments or more will no longer be academically eligible and will be dropped from class. Extensions and deductions of points for late work are at the discretion of the instructor.
    • Grades: Assignments not submitted and tests not taken for any reason are entered as zero. It is up to the student to make arrangements for missing work. Grades are given for use in progress reports and transcripts but are not the official documents required by CBCCA. Parents must submit their own paperwork to their homeschool umbrella.
