ESSAY REQUIREMENTAs part of the nomination process, each nominee must submit an original essay explaining their qualifications, aspirations, and commitment to higher education.
Please write a 500–750-word essay answering the following questions: 

Why do you believe you should be selected as an HBCU Met Gala Honoree and/or Scholarship Recipient? 
Describe your leadership, achievements, community service, and personal impact. 
Explain how your experiences reflect the values of excellence, integrity, and service. 
Why do you want to attend a Historically Black College or University (HBCU)? 
Explain why attending an HBCU is important to you. 
Describe how an HBCU education will help you achieve your academic, professional, and personal goals. 
Share how you plan to use your education to make a positive impact in your community and beyond.

250-500 words. 
Typed, double-spaced, using a 12-point Times New Roman or Arial font.
