• Local Food Guide Application | Slow Food Helsinki

  • Welcome to the application for the Slow Food Local Guide. We are delighted that you are interested in being recognized as a Slow Food establishment and we really appreciate your values: good, clean, and fair food for everyone. It takes a lot of work to be a business that upholds the values and the practices that are critical to resilient, diverse, and thriving food systems.

With the inclusion in the Slow Food Helsinki Local Guide, we aim to give food and beverage establishments that pursue and practice Slow Food values the recongition they deserve. You can find out more about Slow Food's mission and pillars here.

The inclusion in the guide is administered by Slow Food Helsinki following the example of other chapters throughout the World. This application is a tool to help us gather information about your establishment. Slow Food Helsinki representatives will follow up with you to schedule an interview and/or site visit to discuss your application in more detail.

The application is divided into six short sections:

    • Sourcing
    • Cultural Connection
    • Community Involvement
    • Staff Support
    • Establishment Values

We believe that these six sections define ways to ensure good, clean, and fair food for all. Because of the amazing variety in types of establishments that may submit this application, not all of the answers may be applicable for you.

Check the answers that you feel apply to you and then use the text box in each question to tell us more details about your establishment and your practice.

At the end of the application, you will find an text box to add any other relevant information that you could not include before.

This application is expected to take ~30 minutes to complete and must be finished once you begin (it cannot be saved and returned to later).

Feel free to reach out to us to slowfoodhelsinki@proton.me if you have any questions or we can help you in any way.

Thank you for all you do.
