Día de los Muertos 2026 Call for Altars
The annual Día de los Muertos exhibition at the LCC is designed to celebrate the lives of passed loved ones. This exhibition invites members from the community, organizations, and artists to share their own unique altares.

Submissions can be traditional or can have a modern interpretation. You will have an opportunity to share a photo of it or a drawings that shows what your vision is with the intention that it stays respectful to the culture.

Altares cannot exceed 6ft in height, 6ft in width, and 4ft in depth. Perishable food will not be permitted but pre-packaged items are acceptable (ex. unopened candies, chips, etc.) Candles are also acceptable but cannot be lit. You must also provide your own table and materials.

TIMELINE

Submission Deadline: October 1, 2026 11:59pm

Notificaton of acceptance: October 3, 2026 by email

Altar Installation: October 10 - 17, 2026 during office hours

Exhibition Dates: October 20 - November 6, 2026

Deinstallation Date: Saturday November 7

(Altars need to be removed by the given date or they will be removed by staff for next exhibiton)

I acknowledge and accept that if I do not remove my altar by Saturday, November 7, the Latino Cultural Center may remove it to accommodate the installation of the incoming exhibition.
