  • Welcome to the San Diego Varsity Harmony Jam 2026! This event is for singers aged 14 to 26 that are interested in learning collegiate-level singing and blending techniques in a group barbershop-style setting.

Who can participate in the event?

Anyone aged 14 to 26 of all genders and voice types. Participants are not required to be students to participate in the jam.

    Where is it?

The jam and showcase will be held at the Schulman Auditorium at the Carlsbad City Library, 1775 Dove Ln, Carlsbad, CA 92011.

    When is it?

The learning portion of the event will be from 12pm - 4pm. There will be a showcase from 4pm - 5pm where participants will perform for an audience of family and friends.

    How does it work?

Singers will come to the jam with two songs learned ahead of time. (Sheet music and learning tracks for each part will be sent out to registered singers in advance.) Singers will then learn from the faculty director and section leaders and work on the songs in a group setting. After rehearsing the songs, participants will perform in a showcase for an audience of family and friends.

The songs participants will learn are "Can't Stop the Feeling," arranged by Aaron Dale; and "Blue Skies" arranged by Clay Hine. Participants can optionally learn "Keep the Whole World Singing," the Barbershop Harmony Society Motto and Theme Song, which will be sung by the entire audience at the end of the showcase.

    What does it cost?

The jam and showcase are free for student participants. Tickets for the showcase are $5 each.

    How do I sign up?

Interested singers aged 14 - 26 should fill out the interest form below. If there are available spots left in the voice part that the participant would like to sing, the participant will receive a follow-up email from the Pacific Coast Harmony Youth team with any additional registration requirements and/or a registration confirmation as well as a link to the sheet music and learning tracks. (Please note that singers under the age of 18 will need to fill out an additional release form that will require a parent/guardian's signature.)
