We're searching for the pitmaster who can create the best bologna recipe. Bring your best rubs, sauces, smoke, and creativity, then let the judges decide who earns the title of 2026 Bologna BBQ Champion.

At Carolina Packers, home of the Bright Leaf Hot Dog, we've been making Bright Leaf and Curtis bologna the old-fashioned way for more than 85 years. It's a Southern tradition—fresh and local, and full of the nostalgic flavor so many of us grew up with. Now it's your turn to add your favorite rubs, sauces, smoke, and creativity to this timeless classic.
Now it's your chance to prove just how good you can cook bologna.

Time: Load-in begins at 7:00 AM • Cook Meeting at 10:00 AM • Awards around 3:00 PM
Entry Fee: $35 per team (pay at load-in)

- 🌭 Bologna provided - Each team will receive two 3 lb. sticks of bologna. You'll choose your preferred variety from our selection of Bright Leaf and Curtis bologna.
- 🔥 Smoke it, season it, sauce it, and make it your own.
- 👨⚖️ Judging & Scoring - Bologna must be the main hero and star of the show (more of this than any protein) - Score will be based on Taste, Creativity & Appearance. Must fit in a closed to-go box.
- 🤝 Spend the day with fellow BBQ lovers.
- 🌭 Free Lunch - Bright Leaf Hot Dogs and Smoked Sausage for all competitors.
- ⛺ 20' x 20' cook site provided (power is not available).
