2026 LAPCAE Award Nominations: TEACHER OF THE YEAR

LAPCAE is now accepting nominations for 2026 Teacher of the Year, recognizing full-time, part-time, or volunteer educators, including transition coaches, who have made a significant impact on adult education students and programs.

Who Can Be Nominated?

Educators in any role that supports adult learners. If nominating someone without a traditional "teacher" title, please describe their role and contributions.

Deadline:

Nominations close September 18th, at midnight.

Award:

The recipient will receive a $500 cash prize and will be honored at the LAPCAE Awards Event on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. Help us celebrate the dedication and impact of adult educators! Submit your nomination today!

Please provide comprehensive and detailed responses to the following questions. The answers provided may be used to nominate for COABE Teacher of the Year for 2025 and for the LAPCAE Student Spotlight.
Participation and Communication: Provide evidence of the nominee’s participation in school/AEL programs and community activities. Include examples of how the nominee communicates effectively with learners, colleagues, and supervisors.
Commitment to Adult Education and Lifelong Learning: Describe how the nominee demonstrates a commitment to the adult/continuing education profession. Include evidence of the nominee’s dedication to their own lifelong learning through professional development activities.
