    Each hike requires one of each tier: Lead Guide, Support Guide, and Volunteer(s)
  • Guide Tier Qualifications   Leadership Expectations

    Lead Guide ($100/day for public transit hikes or $200/day for camping trips)

    • Licensed NYSOGA Guide OR 
    • WFR certification
    • Significant experience leading adult outdoor trips
     
    • Leads the hike and sets the pace.
    • Makes decisions regarding route, weather, and emergencies.
    • Conducts the safety briefing.
    • Monitors participant well-being and manages risk.
    • Serves as the primary point of contact for the group.
           
    Support Guide ($50/day)
    • Current First Aid/CPR certification
    • Completed 2+ Girls Gone Hiking hikes
     
    • Helps direct navigation, logistics, and check-in.
    • Assists group pacing.
    • Sweeps the back of the group or leads a subgroup as directed.
    • Acts during incidents or emergencies.
    • May step in temporarily if requested by the Lead Guide.
           
    Volunteer
    • Completed 1+ Girls Gone Hiking hikes
     
    • Welcome and chat with new members.
    • Introduce participants to one another.
    • Foster an inclusive, friendly atmosphere.
    • Take photos and help build community.
    • Notify the Lead Guide if someone appears uncomfortable, lost, or needs assistance.

  • By signing below, I acknowledge, represent, and agree that:

    1. I accept this guiding assignment for the hike date, time, and route identified above.
    2. I have reviewed the itinerary and confirm that I am familiar with the designated trail, route, meeting location, planned turnaround points, emergency exit options, and reasonably foreseeable hazards associated with the hike.
    3. I possess the knowledge, experience, training, certifications (if applicable), and physical ability required for my designated Guide Tier and necessary to safely lead participants on this assigned hike.
    4. I agree to lead the hike in accordance with the Girls Gone Hiking, LLC. Guide Manual and all applicable laws, regulations, and permit requirements.
    5. I agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Girls Gone Hiking, LLC, its owners, officers, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or resulting from my negligent acts or omissions, willful misconduct, or material breach of this Agreement while performing guiding services, to the fullest extent permitted by New York law.
    6. I understand that by accepting this assignment, I am responsible for exercising reasonable care and professional judgment while leading the hike and for promptly reporting any accidents, injuries, hazardous conditions, or other safety-related incidents to Girls Gone Hiking, LLC.
    7. Girls Gone Hiking, LLC will remit payment to the Guide via the Guide's designated payment method within two (2) business days after successful completion of the assigned hike, provided the Guide has completed the assignment in accordance with this Agreement and submitted any required reports or documentation.
    8. Girls Gone Hiking, LLC relies on Guides to honor accepted assignments in order to provide a safe and reliable experience for participants. Repeated cancellations, late cancellations without sufficient notice, or failure to appear for an accepted guiding assignment (except in the case of a documented emergency or other circumstances approved by Girls Gone Hiking, LLC) may be considered a material breach of this Agreement and may result in the Guide's removal from the active guide roster and ineligibility for future guiding opportunities, at the sole discretion of Girls Gone Hiking, LLC.
