Instructions for Incoming Student Video Submissions

Please submit one video that clearly demonstrates your musicianship. Your video should feature you singing one song or playing one tune.

    • Solo or Duo Only: To help us accurately assess your individual playing, record yourself performing solo, or with one other instrument as backup (such as guitar or bass). Make sure your part is clearly audible.
    • No Full Bands: Please do not submit videos of performances with a full band, as these make it difficult to evaluate your individual skills.
    • Choose Your Strongest Instrument: If you play multiple instruments, submit a video featuring your strongest instrument. You’ll have an opportunity to list other instruments you play in the survey.
    • Informal Recordings Welcome: It’s fine to record yourself at home using your phone—professional quality is not required.
    • How to Submit: Upload your video to YouTube and provide the link below. Make sure the video is marked "Unlisted" or Public (NOT "Private"), so that we can view it. If you need to submit your video another way, please contact Nate (olsonn@etsu.edu) to make arrangements.
