  • Thank you for your interest in Panthers Forward. This application should take approximately 20 minutes to complete. A few things to note:

    • Please fill in all required information, including listing a Pitt faculty or staff reference. We reserve the right to contact your reference to verify your qualifications to participate in this program.
    • Only undergraduate students graduating in 2027 (spring, summer, fall) from the Pittsburgh campus will be eligible to apply.
    • Students must have a federal student loan for the 2026-27 academic year to be eligible to apply (the Panthers Forward grant can only be applied to your 2026-27 federal student loan). If you are unsure of your loan status, please contact the Financial Aid Office at finaid@pitt.edu before beginning this application.
    • Should you be selected, we will have our Welcome Celebration on Tuesday, November 10th, 2026 in the early evening, so please save the date.  
    • You must complete this application in one sitting, otherwise your progress will not be saved. This application contains two short essay questions that you will need to answer, with a limit of 250 words each. For your convenience, we have included the prompts for these questions below. We recommend that you prepare your answers to the below questions in a separate Word document ahead of time and then copy and paste them into the appropriate fields once you are ready to complete and submit your application. The two short essay questions are:
      • How has Pitt made a positive difference in your life?
      • Why do you think philanthropy/service is important?

    As a Panthers Forward participating student, you will have the opportunity to learn from alumni mentors and Panthers Forward graduates from a variety of backgrounds, focused on life skills that will help you be better prepared for life after you graduate from Pitt.

    You have the option of opting in to be matched with an alumni Mentor or Panthers Forward graduate.  Even if you choose not to be matched, you can connect with PF mentors at any time.
