• 2026 Plant it! Garden Grant Application

    KidsGardening and Niagara Cares are partnering to create the Plant it! Garden Grant, a program dedicated to creating and expanding youth garden spaces in communities across the country.

  • Apply by August 9, 2026, to be considered.

    Grantees will be announced and contacted by email in August.

  • Is your organization located in one of the following cities?*
  • Is your organization tax-exempt?*
  • If chosen as a grantee, will members of your garden team be able to attend bi-weekly virtual meetings related to the garden design and event planning (Aug - Oct)?*
  • If chosen as a grantee, will your garden team be able to manage and purchase garden materials with the awarded grant funds?*
  • Rialto - If chosen as a grantee, do you agree to host a volunteer event with 10 to 30 Niagara employees in the fall of 2026? A weekday morning during the weeks of November 9th through November 20th is the preferred time for the event.*
  • Gahanna - If chosen as a grantee, do you agree to host a volunteer event with 10 to 30 Niagara employees in the fall of 2026? A weekday morning during the weeks of October 19th or 26th is the preferred time for the event.*
  • If chosen as a grantee, do you agree to engage youth in the garden space with ongoing programming during the 2026 - 2027 year?*
  • If chosen as a grantee, do you agree to complete a grant-end report in June 2027?*

  • Verification Document. Attach a document verifying your organization’s tax-exempt status or provide a link below.

    EIN letters, W-9s, and state sales tax certificates are NOT accepted.

    • 501(c)(3) organizations - Submit your IRS Determination Letter.
    • Schools - Submit a letter on school district letterhead, signed by a school district official, stating that the school in question falls under the school district's jurisdiction.
    • For other tax-exempt organizations, such as universities and religious organizations - Provide a letter on official letterhead stating that you are designated as an automatically tax-exempt organization and thus exempt from needing a 501(c)(3) documentation to claim nonprofit status with the US government. You may also submit an IRS Determination Letter if available.
    • Fiscal Sponsorship - Submit your sponsor's IRS Determination Letter and a signed contract detailing the fiscal sponsorship relationship between your organizations.
