• KCS Korean Art Competition Fall 2026 Application Form

  • Korean Community Services (KCS), sponsored by the Asian American Federation (AAF), is hosting its 2nd Annual Korean Art Competition, open to 1st to 12th-grade students across New York State. This competition provides a unique opportunity for Korean students to express their cultural identity through art.

    The theme for this year's competition is: "A Cherished Memory."

    All submissions must be original, created entirely by the student without help from parents, friends, etc. The use of AI-generated content, fan art, traced or plagiarized work is strictly prohibited. KCS holds the right to withdraw and disqualify any applicants at any point in the competition should they violate these rules.

    Please note: After submitting the online application, applicants must drop off the physical artwork at KCS Headquarters. This can be done either in person or via mail-in.

    Online Application deadline (Application Form): Sunday, October 18th, 2026, by 11:59 PM (EST).

    Artwork Submission Deadline (In-person or Mail): Friday, October 23rd, 2026, by 5:00 PM (EST).

  • Eligibility Requirement

  • This competition is exclusively open to students of Korean descent residing in New York State. Only applicants who meet this requirement may proceed with the application.

    This competition is open only to 1st to 12th-grade students of Korean descent residing in NYS.

    Applicants are welcome to submit their artwork in-person or by mail.

  • I certify that the information provided in this application is true and accurate. I confirm that the submitted artwork is my original creation. I understand that providing false information or submitting artwork that is not my own may result in disqualification from the KCS Korean Art Competition.

    I grant Korean Community Services of Metropolitan New York, Inc. (“KCS”) permission to display my artwork and use it for promotional purposes, including but not limited to the KCS Korean Art Competition Showcase & Ceremony, online galleries, and marketing materials. I understand that KCS reserves the right to make minor grammatical or typographical corrections to my submitted materials, such as my artist statement or title of artwork, for clarity or consistency, while maintaining the integrity of my submission.

    Media Consent & Release
    I understand and agree that during the course of my association or involvement with Korean Community Services of Metropolitan New York, Inc. (“KCS”), I may be photographed, videotaped, filmed or interviewed by KCS or its employees, volunteers, affiliates and/or independent contractors (collectively, “Representatives”). I consent to the use by KCS of my statements, image, voice, name and/or story, and any derivative works of the foregoing, in any format, including photos, film, video, audio, print or electronic (together, the “Materials”), as KCS may deem appropriate to promote its programs. I agree that KCS and its Representatives may make the Materials available in any of its internal or promotional materials, including in or on brochures, advertisements, newspapers, websites, social media, videos, publications or any other media. I also agree to waive any right to inspect or approve the use of the Materials, receive notice of their use or publication or the finished product or to receive any payment. I grant KCS all copyrights in the Materials and waive any legal claims, including those relating to copyright, or rights of publicity or privacy.

    Liability for Mail-In Submission Process
    I understand that Korean Community Services of Metropolitan New York, Inc. (“KCS”), will not be held responsible for any damage or loss of artwork during transit. This includes artwork delivered before or after working hours. It is also my responsibility to ensure that my artwork arrives at or before the deadline of Friday, October 23rd, 2026, at 5:00 PM EST.

    For participants under 18
    I am the parent/guardian of the participant and grant consent for their participation and inclusion in media coverage, as stated above.

    By signing below, I agree that my electronic signature is the legal equivalent of my manual signature and that I agree to be legally bound by the terms of this document.
