Please Note: GC/75/06 Scholarship Places - It was decided by the General Council on 16/11/2006 that members can apply and win by interview either a Junior or a Senior Scholarship. A Scholarship can also be won through the Senior Member of the Year Competition, the John Spear Award and/or the George Hingston Award for Shearing.

Please note:

The Junior Scholarship is open to all members aged between 16 and 17 years of age (as of the 1st April 2027). If you would like to apply for this Scholarship, please complete the application form attached.

The Senior Scholarship is open to all members aged between 18 and 28 years of age (as of the 1st of April 2027). If you would like to apply for this Scholarship, please complete the application form attached.

We will also require one male and one female Leader for the Junior Scholarship. These Leaders may be current or past members. To apply to be a Leader, please complete the application form attached.

Interview process:

After the application deadline has passed on 4th September, all application forms will be passed to the judges who will complete part 1 of the interview process. By late September all applicants will be contacted and successful applicants will be invited to the next stage of an in person interview on Saturday 10th October 2026.

Interview date Saturday 10th October 2026 - If it would be easier for you to attend at an earlier/later time, or if you are unable to attend on this date, please notify County Office ASAP.
