We are seeking an experienced Mobile Application Developer with a strong UI/UX design background who can take a feature from concept through design, development, testing, and release.

This person must be proficient in React Native, Expo, TypeScript, API integrations, mobile security, and Figma.

The ideal candidate is not just a developer who implements completed designs. They must be capable of understanding a product requirement, mapping the user experience, creating polished mobile mockups and interactive prototypes in Figma, and then translating those designs into a secure, performant, production-ready mobile application.

This is a hands-on role for someone who can think like both a product designer and a mobile engineer.

 

This is a full-time, remote contractor position offering a starting compensation range of $6,000 to $8,000 USD per month, depending on experience.

 

Candidates in Latin America are strongly preferred because of time-zone alignment, although exceptional candidates in other regions will also be considered.

 

Fluent, native-level professional English is required.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Product Design & UI/UX

• Translate product requirements into intuitive mobile user experiences.
• Create wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes in Figma.
•  Design clean, modern, and consistent mobile interfaces.
• Build and maintain reusable design systems and component libraries.
• Define user flows, interactions, typography, spacing, and responsive layouts.
• Improve workflows by simplifying complex user experiences.
• Present design concepts and iterate based on stakeholder feedback.
• Ensure final application matches approved Figma designs.

2. Mobile Application Development

• Build and maintain cross-platform mobile applications using React Native and Expo.
• Convert approved Figma designs into polished production-ready interfaces.
• Develop reusable, scalable, and maintainable application components.
• Optimize application startup time, responsiveness, memory usage, and rendering performance.
• Diagnose and resolve bugs, crashes, and production issues.
• Participate in architecture discussions and technical planning.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.

3. API Integration

• Build and maintain secure REST API integrations.
• Consume and process JSON APIs efficiently.
• Implement authentication and authorization.
• Handle loading, error, timeout, retry, and offline scenarios gracefully.
• Collaborate with backend engineers on API design and implementation.
• Optimize network performance and minimize unnecessary API requests.

4. Security

• Follow secure mobile development best practices.
• Protect authentication tokens and sensitive customer information.
• Implement OAuth, JWT, and secure API communication.
• Understand common mobile application security vulnerabilities.
• Validate authenticated and unauthorized application behavior.
• Participate in security reviews before production releases.

5. Quality & Release Management

• Perform comprehensive testing before deployment.
• Participate in code reviews and design reviews.
• Manage Expo EAS build pipelines.
• Publish applications to the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
• Monitor crash reporting, analytics, and application performance.
• Continuously improve stability, usability, and performance.
