Bath Tub Racing Team Registration

THINGS TO KNOW:

Team size: Each team consists of four members, 3 pushing, one inside the tub/steering. Team members MUST be 18 years of age or older. 
Helmets required: All team members must wear a helmet at all times while racing. Helmets are not provided and must be worn to partcipate
Waiver: All team members must sign a waiver to participate in the races. Teams also agree to be filmed and photographed and their likeness will be used on social media and other promotional materials.
Team logo: You must provide your team logo in a vectored format (e.g., .ai, .eps, or .svg) so it can be printed and displayed on your bathtub during your heats.
Dress up! We highly encourage teams to dress up and get into the spirit — costumes that tie into your team name and theme are strongly encouraged.
Entry fee: The fee to participate is $100 per team, with $50 of every entry going to Crocus Co-op to help support their cause.
Payment methods: Fees can be paid by cash or cheque. Card payments are accepted, but teams paying by card are responsible for covering the transaction/processing fees. Payment can be made in person at the RBID office or arranged by emailing rbid@wiemanage.com.
Payment deadline: Your entry fee must be paid no later than Friday, August 15, 2026 (at least two weeks before the event on August 29).
Team photo: Each team must submit a team photo as part of registration.
Social media: We ask all teams to participate in some social media engagement. Please provide a team photo and your team name so we can feature your team online.
Race-day arrival: Teams must arrive at least 30 minutes prior to their scheduled heat.

WAIVER OF LIABILITY, RELEASE, ASSUMPTION OF RISK, AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT

Riversdale Business Improvement District — Bathtub Race

Please read carefully before signing. This is a legally binding document that affects your legal rights. By signing, you are giving up certain legal rights, including the right to sue.

1. Definitions. In this Agreement, the "Event" means the Riversdale Business Improvement District Bathtub Race and all related activities, whether occurring before, during, or after the scheduled race. The "Released Parties" means the Riversdale Business Improvement District (the "RBID"), the City of Saskatoon, and each of their respective councillors, officers, directors, members, employees, agents, volunteers, contractors, sponsors, representatives, successors, and assigns.

2. Assumption of Risk. I understand and acknowledge that participation in the Event involves inherent and other risks, hazards, and dangers that may result in property damage, financial loss, physical or psychological injury, illness, disability, paralysis, or death. These risks include, but are not limited to: slips, trips, and falls; contact with water, equipment, or other participants; the condition of the race course, surfaces, and premises; equipment failure; the acts, omissions, or negligence of other participants, spectators, or the Released Parties; weather conditions; and my own physical condition. I freely and voluntarily accept and assume all such risks, both known and unknown, and the possibility of personal injury, death, property damage, or loss resulting from them.

3. Release and Waiver. In consideration of being permitted to participate in the Event, I, on behalf of myself and my heirs, executors, administrators, personal representatives, next of kin, and assigns, hereby release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue the Released Parties from and against any and all claims, demands, actions, causes of action, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses of any kind (including legal fees) that I may have or that may arise, directly or indirectly, out of or in connection with my participation in the Event, including any such claims caused or alleged to be caused, in whole or in part, by the negligence of any of the Released Parties, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

4. Indemnification. I agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Released Parties from and against any and all claims, actions, suits, procedures, costs, expenses, damages, and liabilities (including reasonable legal fees) brought by me or on my behalf, or by any third party, arising out of or in any way connected with my participation in the Event, including any claim resulting from my own acts, omissions, or negligence.

5. Consent to Medical Treatment. I consent to receive medical treatment deemed necessary in the event of injury, accident, or illness during the Event, and I acknowledge that I am solely responsible for any and all costs associated with such treatment.

6. Fitness to Participate. I represent and warrant that I am physically fit and able to safely participate in the Event, that I have no medical condition that would prevent my safe participation, and that I will comply with all Event rules and safety requirements, including the requirement to wear a helmet at all times while racing.

7. Media Release. I grant the Released Parties the irrevocable right to photograph, film, and record me during the Event, and to use, reproduce, publish, and distribute my name, likeness, image, and voice in any media, including social media and promotional materials, without compensation, notice, or approval.

8. Governing Law. This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Saskatchewan and the laws of Canada applicable therein, and the courts of Saskatchewan shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from it.

9. Severability. If any provision of this Agreement is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

10. Acknowledgement. I confirm that I have read this entire Agreement, that I fully understand its terms, that I understand I am giving up substantial legal rights (including the right to sue), and that I have signed it freely and voluntarily without any inducement.
