Purpose: As part of the work of the NYS Community Food Collaborative, we are working to better understand, showcase, and leverage respective strengths to improve food and agriculture policy in NY state. About: The Collaborative is a network of community-based, regional food councils, coalitions, and food system leaders from around NY state. For more information about the Collaborative, please visit www.nyscommunityfoodcollaborative.org. How will this information help: The strength of our state is the wide range of coalitions, councils, and organizations working on food and agriculture policy. In an effort to understand the landscape and capacity of organizations and coalitions to engage more deeply and intentionally, we are seeking to “map” the collective efforts of our organizations, leverage one another’s strengths, and lift the tide for all boats. Additionally, this activity will help provide a foundational understanding of the Collaborative’s role. Who should take this? Representatives from food policy coalitions, councils, organizational advocates, and members of policy-oriented organizations. Importantly, this is intended to measure ORGANIZATIONAL efforts, efficacy, and capacity related to food and agricultural policy.
