We are excited to announce an internship opportunity to support SDB’s New Faculty Boot Camp - a blended 12-week learning course offered to pre-tenure faculty and advanced postdocs who have accepted a job offer. One of the main goals of this course is to foster a supportive community of practice, building relationships with colleagues going through the same or similar experiences, as well as with senior faculty mentors who have experience in the process.
Eligibility
- Senior graduate student (4th year and up) and postdoc members of the Society for Developmental Biology are eligible.

Duties of the Intern
- Support the technical side of course delivery (e.g. Zoom calls) during online sessions
- Communicate with course participants and SDB office staff
- Collaborate with SDB’s social media team to promote the course through various platforms
- Support the instructors during the course, which will run every other week from September onwards (detailed schedule still to be determined)
- At completion of the course, assist with identifying and curating new content for the next iteration.
The internship will run for a total of 9 months. The deadline for all application materials, including a letter of recommendation from your advisor, is Thursday, August 6, 2026 at 11:59 pm Eastern Time. Recommendation letter writers should send their letters to SDB at sdb@sdbonline.org.
