  • Welcome to the Student Access Program! We are thrilled to welcome your group for an inspiring visit this school year.

    Please review the eligibility guidelines and program details before submitting your request.

    Eligibility:

    The Student Access Program is available for Title I schools in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware, where at least 40% of students qualify for free/reduced-price lunches.

    Program Details:

    • Program dates: Monday, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from September 8, 2026 through January 27, 2027.
      • Dates will be removed upon reaching capacity.
    • General admission and lunchroom reservations for up to 100 students per day are included.
      • Reservations are required when eating lunch onsite; dining options can be found within the form.
      • Add a show experience for just $5 per person.
      • Bringing more than 100 students? Submit additional request forms for visits on different dates.
    • Includes 1 FREE chaperone (ages 21+) for every 5 students.
      • Chaperones must supervise students at all times during the visit.
      • Additional adults above chaperone limit pay adult rate.
    • After your form is submitted, you will receive confirmation within 2 days.
    • Payment for any outstanding balance is due three weeks prior to your visit.

  • Attention: Philadelphia schools visiting in 2026 can now add a FREE show to Student Access Program field trips due to available grant funding.

    Please book from the show options below and this discount will be automatically applied!

    Funding is available on a first come, first served basis for visits occurring in 2026 only. Limit of one free show per reservation and per school.

  • Fels Planetarium Shows:

    Celestial Sights (17 minutes) - Trace the remarkable journey of how we’ve observed space—from early stargazing to high-tech telescopes and satellites—through the people who brought the universe into focus.

    Encounters in the Milky Way (25 minutes) - Witness spectacular moments in our solar system's past and future, including the paths of stars, comets, interstellar debris, and visually stunning gas and dust clouds–and, visualized for the first time, a dramatic, ongoing merger of our galaxy with a smaller satellite galaxy.

    The Sky Tonight (25 minutes) - From sunset to sunrise, join our live cosmic tour guide for a thrilling journey through the night sky—exploring constellations, planets, and deep-space wonders you can see overhead tonight.

  • Private Live Science Show:

    Available for groups visiting on or after October 5, 2026!

    Combustion Show (25 minutes) - Things heat up as we break down the 3 ingredients needed for any good combustion reaction at this fiery show.

    Liquid Air Show (25 minutes) - Cool off with one of our favorite chemicals, Liquid Nitrogen, as we explore how temperature affects matter at one of the longest-running shows at the museum.

    Groups reserving lunch vouchers will be scheduled to eat in The Eatery located on the 2nd floor of the museum.

    Deluxe ($17.00 per person) - Choice of sandwich, salad or hot entrée, includes a side salad or french fries, and a bottle of water or can soda.

    Sandwich Options: Roasted Vegetable and Hummus Wrap, Italian Hoagie, Caprese Sandwich, Chicken Caesar Wrap

    Salad Options: Fiesta Chicken Salad, Cobb Salad, Caesar Salad with choice of Caesar, Balsamic Vinaigrette, Red Wine Vinaigrette, or Cilantro Lime Dressing

    Hot Entrée Options: Steak Sandwich (with or without cheese), Bistro Bowl (varies), Hamburger, Cheeseburger, Chicken Fingers, All Beef Hot Dog, Pizza (cheese, pepperoni, or veggie), Soup of the Day

    Premium ($12.00 per person) - Choice of hamburger, cheeseburger (lettuce, tomato, burger sauce), or chicken fingers, includes a side salad or french fries, and a bottle of water or can soda.

    Standard ($9.00 per person) - Choice of all beef hotdog or slice of pizza (cheese, pepperoni, or veggie), a cookie and bag of chips, and a bottle of water or can soda.
