  • Participant’s Assumption of Risk
    2026/2027 Season

I am aware and understand that there are a number of inherent risks involved in my participation in this sporting activity and are beyond the control of the Canadian Baton Twirling Federation, the Provincial Baton Twirling Organization, Association or Corporation in the province in which any competition and/or sanctioned activity in which I participate takes place, the host club(s) or province, the event or competition director, the owner, occupier, operator, and/or tenant of the event facility, and any person, corporation or organization associated with the operation of such competitions or events. I further agree that I am assuming personal responsibility for any costs as well as any loss, damage, injury or ambulance service resulting from or in connection with such participation at each competition in which I compete, or event in which I participate. I have read and understand this Waiver.

Baton twirling, dance, acrobatics, stretching, conditioning, private lessons, outdoor programming, travel, competitions, performances, parades, and physical activity involve inherent risks. These may include falls, collisions, baton impact, overuse injuries, sprains, strains, fractures, concussion, illness, allergic reaction, property loss, travel risks, weather, public-event risks, and risks associated with facilities, equipment, other participants, and physical exertion.

    • By registering, the family acknowledges these risks and agrees that the athlete must follow safety instructions, disclose relevant medical information, report injuries or concerns, and participate responsibly.
    • The Club may obtain emergency assistance or contact emergency services where reasonably necessary. Families remain responsible for ambulance, medical, travel, insurance, and other personal costs unless another written arrangement applies.
    • This acknowledgement does not replace any separate waiver or consent required by Remix, ABTA, CBTF, a facility, event organizer, insurer, or travel provider.

  • CBTF Media Consent

    Photography/Media Coverage/Website

During the year, photographs of athletes may be taken during competitions, banquets, clinics, awards and special presentations or other occasions. Your consent is required or parental/guardian consent if the athlete is under the age of majority. Media coverage is occasionally done throughout the competition season in order to promote the sport of Baton Twirling and to acknowledge club and athlete's accomplishments. This means publishing athletes' names and club associations in the local newspapers and on the CBTF website. On occasion, the media will attend competitions including radio, television, newspaper etc. At these times, it will be the parent's responsibility to provide parental consent to the specific media outlets.

Families will select their Remix Baton Club media-consent preference during registration.

Where promotional media consent is provided, the family authorizes the Club to collect, use, reproduce, publish, and share photographs, video, audio, athlete names, team names, competition results, and achievements for Club communication, historical records, promotion, recruitment, recognition, registration, social media, websites, newsletters, presentations, and approved media activities.

Consent applies to media created during the Club Season and permits its ongoing and indefinite use after the season or the athlete’s membership ends.

    • A later withdrawal of consent applies only to future use. It does not require the Club to remove or recall material already printed, published, distributed, archived, posted, or incorporated into a completed project.
    • The Club will follow written media restrictions recorded during registration for media created or controlled by the Club.
    • Declining Remix promotional media consent does not prevent photography, video, or publication by event organizers, governing bodies, media outlets, facilities, spectators, other families, or members of the public at events where the Club does not control recording or publication.
    • ABTA, CBTF, facilities, event organizers, media outlets, or other organizations can require separate media consent.
    • Photography, video, and audio recording are prohibited in change rooms, washrooms, and other private areas.
    • Athlete and family photography, recording, posting, and sharing remain subject to the Club’s Social Media, Photo, and Video Policy.
  • Do you grant the Canadian Baton Twirling Federation permission to post all forms of publicity including full name and image?*
  • Remix Baton Club 2026/2027 Season Policies

  • Remix Baton Club has created and aligned these policies to provide a safe, welcoming, respectful, and family-oriented environment for athletes, parents, coaches, volunteers, and Club leaders. By following these policies, athletes are supported in discovering their potential, developing skills in baton twirling, dance, and acrobatics, and building teamwork, dedication, confidence, accountability, resilience, and respect. These expectations also support the standards and values of the Alberta Baton Twirling Association and the Canadian Baton Twirling Federation.

As a non-profit organization, Remix is committed to accessible and affordable programming while maintaining responsible operations and long-term sustainability. Decisions made by the Head Coach, Coaching Team, and Board are guided by athlete safety and well-being, the best interests of the Club as a whole, financial responsibility, program and facility needs, and applicable sport and governing-body requirements.

  • By signing or electronically accepting this agreement, I confirm that:*

I hereby acknowledge that I have read, understand, and agree to abide by all terms, conditions, and policies of Remix Baton Club and this agreement as detailed above.
