Diamond Awards Student Reporter
The Diamond Awards Student Reporter award category recognizes students who have an interest in journalism, film or digital marketing. Up to two students will be selected as the Diamond Awards Student Reporters, and are eligible to advance to the National High School Musical Theatre Awards, AKA The Jimmy Awards. This is an opportunity to showcase student creativity and skills in event coverage, visual storytelling, video editing, videography, photography, and/or social media.
If selected as a national winner for the Jimmy Awards, students will receive an all-expense paid trip to NYC to work directly with the Jimmy Awards Digital team, June TBD, 2027.

Eligible Students:
- Must be enrolled in a school that is participating in the Dimond Awards.
- Students may be in the cast of the musical, but not in a Leading Role.
- Must be in grades 9-12.
- Must be available to attend The Diamond Awards (May 20-23, 2027), as well as The Jimmy Awards in New York City (June TBD 2027), should they be selected at the national level.
- Students who have previously participated in the Student Reporter Search are eligible to participate again, including past winners.

Students must register themselves for this category by January 31, 2027 by completing this form and uploading VIDEO 1.
VIDEO 1:
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS: Please ensure your video submission meets the following guidelines:
- The video should include at least one unedited segment of at least 20 seconds in length with the applicant speaking directly to camera.
- Submissions must meet the requirements for an Instagram Reel/TikTok video with an aspect ratio between 1.91:1 and 9:16 (vertical) and minimum resolution of 720 pixels.
- The video should be submitted as a file, not a link. Please do not publicly post your video.
- Create a 45 to 60-second video in the style of an Instagram Reel or TikTok video that showcases your creative approach to content creation.
- You are welcome to add closed captioning and graphic overlays to your video.
- Please make sure you are well-lit and we can hear you clearly.
