VEHICLE ACCESS REQUIREMENTS
The Town of Newcomb limits private vehicle access beyond the Lake Harris Town Beach entrance gate to protect public safety, preserve emergency access, prevent damage to the beach and surrounding trees, and protect the beach area.
PLEASE NOTE
During regular beach hours, the driveway chain may remain lowered for emergency and authorized access. A lowered chain does not authorize private vehicles to enter. When the beach is closed, the chain will be raised and secured. The chain may not be removed, moved, lowered, raised, or bypassed without authorization from a Town official.
REQUIREMENTS FOR AN APPROVED RESERVATION
A maximum of two authorized vehicles may travel beyond the entrance gate solely to load and unload supplies.
The names of drivers and vehicle descriptions must be provided to the Town in advance.
Authorized vehicles may not remain parked within the beach area unless the Town grants specific permission.
After unloading, vehicles must return to the designated public parking area. All other guests must park outside the gate.
The driveway and access route must remain clear at all times for emergency vehicles, Town vehicles, lifeguards, pedestrians, and persons with disabilities.
Vehicles may not be driven or parked on the sand, beneath or near cedar trees, or outside the designated access route.
When the beach is closed, the entrance chain may not be removed, lowered, moved, or bypassed without authorization from a Town official.
An extended golf cart may be available by advance arrangement, subject to Town staff and equipment availability, to assist with transporting people and supplies.
The golf cart may be operated only by a person authorized by the Town.
Emergency vehicles, Town maintenance vehicles, and vehicles authorized as a reasonable accessibility accommodation are not subject to the two-vehicle unloading limit.
Failure to comply may result in removal of unauthorized vehicles, suspension of the reservation, loss of the security deposit, or denial of future facility-use requests.
APPLICANT ACKNOWLEDGMENT
I acknowledge that I have read and understand the Lake Harris Town Beach vehicle-access requirements. I agree to inform all participants, vendors, caterers, volunteers, and guests that general vehicle access beyond the beach gate is prohibited. I understand that only two vehicles approved in advance may enter for loading and unloading.
