Leadership Position: 2027 Spring Summits Committee Chair
Reports to: AHEPPP Board of Directors and designated AHEPPP staff
Length of Term: Nine months (September 2026 - May 2027)
Time commitment: 2-4 hours per week, varies
Position Description: The Spring Summit Chair provides leadership and strategic direction for the two annual virtual Spring Summits. Leading a team of volunteers, the Chair ensures the success of the Spring Summits from start to finish by maintaining that all aspects of the event align with AHEPPP's mission, vision, and values as the premier association for family engagement at the collegiate level.
Responsibilities |
- Serve as the primary role on the Spring Summits committee leadership team, which includes the designated AHEPPP staff and reports directly to the AHEPPP Board of Directors
- Partner with the designated AHEPPP staff to establish the summit’s topics, concepts, and design, including the technical, operational, and digital footprint for the summits.
- Oversee the administrative and logistical management of the summits
- Actively support committee members for maximized engagment and participation
- Serve as the Master of Ceremonies for both Spring Summits and assist with technology management
- Work with the designated AHEPPP staff to develop a communication plan and develop materials as needed
- Prepare and submit a final report (executive summary) as directed to document decisions, activiites, results of new porgrams, and recommendations of importance to the incoming committee, Chair, and the Board of Directors
Eligibility Requirements |
- Current AHEPPP member with at least 3 years of experience in parent/family engagement
- Strong organizational and event planning skills
- Strong relationship-builder who communicates clearly and works well in a collaborative team-oriented environment
- Available to attend both Spring Summits
- Previous experience with the Spring Summit Committee or other event planning teams is preferred
