  • Cambridge Open Engage

  • For this year's event, we'll be using a dedicated Symposium page on Cambridge Open Engage as a space to host recordings of the plenary sessions, and we'll also be asking our poster presenters to upload their posters and short papers. Engage is an early research site run by Cambridge University Press, which is fully open access to all users, and offers infrastructure like open licensing, Google Scholar indexing, long-term preservation, metrics and DOI assignment for many kinds of early research including preprints, presentations and posters. It also offers commenting and versioning features so that researchers can discuss their work with others, and amend it over time.

By having a Symposium page on Engage, we wanted to offer attendees a place to access and discuss talks and posters online beyond the live sessions. The page's contents will also be freely accessible online in perpetuity, helping to drive the impact of the research with a wider audience beyond the event. Poster presenters will need to register for Engage to upload their work – this is a very quick process and will not result in any undesired marketing emails. We will provide full details as poster sessions are accepted. All attendees will be able to access and see the page without registering, but will need to register in order to comment.

Please note, Cambridge Open Engage does not generally remove content once published. The vast majority of journals are permissive of pre-print, so we hope this won’t be a problem for future publications. However, if you have any questions about this please contact cambridgeopenengage@cambridge.org. The Cambridge Language Sciences team are also happy to help with queries on this if needs be. You can email us at contact@cambridgelanguagesciences.cam.ac.uk.
