Breathwork Informed Consent
Breathwork is a respiratory therapy rooted in yogic pranayama in Eastern cultures. In a non-invasive way, one is facilitated to breathe in a particular pattern while lying down comfortably. Using their own breath, an individual can create an opening to effectively treat stress-related illness, depression, heal physical & emotional trauma, and can empower themselves to take an active role in their own treatment.
The breathwork session can bring up intense emotions and strong physical experiences. I understand that issues arising from my participation in a breathwork session may require additional therapeutic or supportive integration.
I understand that I will be fully clothed during any breathwork sessions.
Therapeutic Touch
You should know that the breathwork facilitator might touch or apply acupressure to your hands, the top and/or the bottom of your feet, the base of your head, the crown of your head, your forehead, and the middle of your lip just below your nose.
This is for therapeutic purposes only to clear any stuck energy or body discomfort, if you understand the above statement and agree to being touched in these areas.
Breathwork as described above has the potential to create both desirable and undesirable effects up to 72 hours after treatment.
Such effects can include but are not limited to the following: soreness/ muscle aches, allergic reactions, sensitivities to taste/ sound/ feeling, euphoric states, disorientation, dehydration, headaches.
I understand if I am struggling or in pain for more than 24 hours after the session, I should reach out by email and/ or call (303) 929-2960.
