Leadership Position: Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education (CAS) Representative
Reports to: AHEPPP Board of Directors
Length of Term: Three years (January 2027 - December 2029)
Time commitment: 2-4 hours per week, including regular CAS meetings, standards review calls, and annual in-person meeting in Alexandria, VA
Position Description: The CAS Representative serves as AHEPPP's voice on the Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education (CAS). This role connects AHEPPP with broader higher education standards and best practices. Working alongside another CAS representative, this position helps shape and communicate standards that impact parent and family engagement in higher education.
Responsibilities |
- Serve as an official AHEPPP Representative on the CAS Council
- Attend and participate in regular CAS meetings and standards review calls
- Attend the annual in-person meeting in Alexandria, VA (travel expenses provided by AHEPPP)
- Collaborate with fellow CAS representative on AHEPPP voting decisions
- Serve on standards review or other CAS committees
Provide regular CAS updates to the AHEPPP Board of Directors
- Present CAS-related content at AHEPPP's Annual Conference and webinars
- Consult with AHEPPP members on CAS products and review processes
- Submit reports documenting activities and recommendations to the Board of Directors
Desired Qualifications |
- Understanding of higher education standards and assessment
- Experience with program evaluation and review processes
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues
- Commitment to advancing professional standards in higher education
- Previous experience with AHEPPP or similar organizations
- Ability to attend the annual CAS Conference in November in Alexandra, VA
