Leadership position: 2027 Mentorship Program Chair
Reports to: AHEPPP Board of Directors and Executive Director
Length of term: January 2027 - December 2027
Time commitment: 2-5 hours per week, varies
Position Description: The Mentorship Program Chair provides leadership and strategic direction for the Mentorship Program. Leading a team of mentors, the Chair ensures the program's success from start to finish by maintaining that all aspects align with AHEPPP's mission, vision, and values as the premier association for family engagement at the collegiate level.
Responsibilities:
- Lead all components of the the AHEPPP Mentorship Program
Recruit, select, and pair mentors and mentees from the AHEPPP membership
- Host Mentor Cohort meetings for mentors to equip them in their roles
- Send monthly emails to mentors providing them with discussion topics for their mentees
- Connect with mentees to ensure they receive the needed AHEPPP support
- Prepare and submit a final report (executive summary) documenting decisions, activities, results of new programs, and future recommendations.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current AHEPPP member with at least 3 years of experience in parent/family engagement
- Experience as a mentor or mentee
- Strong meeting facilitation and communication skills (especially on Zoom)
- Organized, responsive, and relationship-oriented
- Ability to collaborate regularly with Membership Liaisons and the committee
