• SMT Process Engineer

    Pivot Point Staffing is hiring an SMT Process Engineer to support the development, optimization, and continuous improvement of Surface Mount Technology (SMT) manufacturing processes. This role is ideal for engineers with 2+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing who have hands-on knowledge of SMT equipment, new product introduction (NPI), process optimization, and root cause analysis. The ideal candidate will have experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, IPC standards, and process documentation while collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve quality, efficiency, and production performance. A bachelor's degree in Engineering is required, along with strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.     General Description:

    Fully participate in and support the MERSEN Quality System.
    Set up, adjust, and operate a variety of large CNC machines.
    Perform machining operations involving close tolerances and finish specifications.
    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Follow prescribed operational sequences.
    • Operate machines to produce pilot pieces for inspection, check setups, and make adjustments to correct variances.
    • Work from part drawings, specifications, setup instructions, and operating instructions.
    • Use a wide range of precision measuring instruments and devices to set up, operate, and inspect work.
    • Be responsible for final inspection under general supervision.
      Continually improve and monitor quality through product delivery, conformance, and performance.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
    • One to two years of related experience and/or training; or
      An equivalent combination of education and experience.

     

    CNC Machinist Requirements:

    Mastercam/CAD/CAM knowledge.
    Willing to work as part of a team.
    Ability to follow work instructions.
    Knowledge and experience in 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machining.
    Ability to collect data from blueprints, plans, work orders, and other sources to complete inspection sheets.
    ISO 9001 knowledge preferred.
    Enter instructions into CNC equipment based on programmer specifications.
    Set up CNC equipment with the correct attachments and tooling to perform required jobs.
    Operate and monitor multiple CNC machines simultaneously.
    Troubleshoot machine programming issues.
    Follow all safety procedures and regulations.
    Collaborate with engineers, management, and other team members.
    Inspect and maintain equipment, including performing PMP duties.
    CMM familiarity or knowledge.
    Familiarity with calipers, micrometers, depth micrometers, and gage pins.
    Familiarity with different types of tooling, including end mills, bullnose cutters, ballnose cutters, chamfer mills, drills, and related tooling.
    Strong attention to detail and good listening skills.
    Understanding of the decimal system.
    Ability to work night shift positions.
