Karate Tasmania is pleased to advise that a Guardian Girls Karate Australia Instructor Course will be conducted on Sunday, 25 October 2026 at the Toshi Dojo, Polish Club, 20–28 New Town Road, New Town.
The course will be delivered by Liz Mahler who is the National Program Director for Guardian Girls Karate Australia and has been instrumental in the development and delivery of the program across Australia. The instructor course will run from 8.30am to 5.00pm, providing participants with comprehensive training in the delivery of the Guardian Girls program.
Guardian Girls Karate is an internationally recognised initiative that empowers women and girls through practical self-defence skills, increased confidence, personal safety awareness and resilience. The program provides accredited instructors with the knowledge and resources required to deliver Guardian Girls courses within their own dojo and local communities.
To be eligible to attend the course, female participants must hold a minimum rank of 1st Kyu and possess a current Bronze Level Karate Australia Instructor Accreditation (KIA Coaching Accreditation) and Working with Vulnerable People card. Heads of Style are encouraged to nominate suitable instructors who meet these prerequisites and are committed to delivering the Guardian Girls program within their clubs and local communities.
Expanding the number of accredited Guardian Girls instructors across Tasmania will assist in increasing participation opportunities for women and girls while promoting a safer and more inclusive community.
Registrations are now open and must be completed via this registration form. Early registration is encouraged as places are limited.
