    Thank you for your interest in supporting the Winters Combined PTA during the 2026–2027 school year! We proudly serve both Shirley Rominger Elementary and Waggoner Elementary. Please review the committee descriptions below to learn more about each volunteer opportunity, then select the committee(s) that best match your interests. Committee chairs will contact volunteers after interest has been collected to discuss meeting dates, volunteer opportunities, and committee responsibilities. Have questions before signing up?   • PTA Committee Descriptions
    Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Winters Combined PTA! Our committees help make many of the programs, events, and opportunities our students and families enjoy throughout the year possible. Whether you have a few hours to give or would like to take on a larger role, we'd love to have you join us. No experience is necessary, and volunteers can help as much or as little as their schedule allows—every helping hand makes a difference!


    🚸 Safe Routes to School Committee
    Committee Lead: Needed
    Date: October 7, 2026

    Help encourage students and families to safely bike and walk to school! This committee plans fun events like Walk & Roll Day in October and the Bike Rodeo in May as part of our Safe Routes to School Grant. Whether you'd like to help with planning, organizing, or event day, we'd love to have you!


    🎃 Trunk or Treat Festival Committee
    Committee Lead: Danielle Smith
    Date: October 23, 2026

    Help bring one of our favorite family events to life! Volunteers assist with decorating, coordinating vendors, collecting donations, organizing trunk entries, and helping everything run smoothly on event day. Most planning takes place throughout October, with the event being held at Shirley Rominger on October 23.


    📖 Yearbook Committee
    Committee Leads: Samantha Lindquist & Raena Lavelle
    Date: Throughout the School Year

    Help capture the memories that will last a lifetime! Volunteers take photos, organize pictures, and help create yearbooks for both school sites using easy-to-learn yearbook software. The workload comes and goes throughout the year, with the busiest time being March through May.


    🎤 School Assemblies Committee

    Date: Throughout the School Year

    Help make our school assemblies fun, exciting, and memorable! Volunteers assist with planning, decorating, coordinating with presenters, setting up, and helping during assemblies throughout the school year. Whether you enjoy planning behind the scenes or helping on event day, we'd love your support.


    📚 Literacy Night Committee
    Committee Lead: Teacher Lead
    Date: November 12, 2026 (6:00–7:30 PM)

    Help inspire a love of reading in our students! Volunteers assist with planning activities, decorating, coordinating booths, and creating a fun and welcoming Literacy Night for families at Shirley Rominger on November 12.


    🎨 Door Decorating Committee
    Committee Lead: Samantha Lindquist
    Date: December 2–11, 2026

    Help bring creativity to our campuses during the annual classroom door decorating competition! Volunteers assist with wrapping classroom doors, organizing materials, and coordinating judging at both school sites during the competition.


    💙 Staff Appreciation Committee
    Committee Leads: Macial Sanchez & Yvonne Fergeson
    Date: Throughout the School Year

    Help us celebrate the amazing teachers and staff who make a difference every day! Volunteers help choose a theme, decorate campuses, coordinate meals, snacks, and gifts, and set up appreciation surprises throughout Staff Appreciation Week. We also recognize our principals and office staff throughout the year.


    🌎 Heritage Night Committee

    Help celebrate the diverse cultures that make our school community so special! Volunteers assist with coordinating cultural booths, organizing the event, and helping families enjoy an evening of learning and celebration at Shirley Rominger.


    ❤️ Family Valentine's Dance Committee
    Committee Lead: Brittany Chartier
    Date: February 5, 2027

    Help plan one of our biggest family events of the year! Volunteers assist with decorations, planning activities, setup, supervision, and cleanup to create a fun and memorable evening for our school community. Planning begins shortly after Thanksgiving Break.


    🚜 Farm Day Committee
    Committee Lead: Whitney Vickery

    Help continue one of Waggoner Elementary's favorite traditions! Volunteers work with local farmers, ranchers, environmental organizations, and other community partners to create engaging, hands-on learning experiences for students. Planning takes place in the spring.


    🎈 Youth Day Float Committee
    Committee Lead: Jenny Endicott
    Date: April 24, 2027

    Help showcase our PTA in the annual Youth Day Parade! Volunteers assist with planning, building, decorating, and assembling our parade float. Most of the work takes place during the week leading up to the parade.


    🌈 5th Grade Color Run Committee
    Committee Lead: Danielle
    Date: June 3, 2027

    Help celebrate our 5th graders as they take their next big step to middle school! Volunteers help organize the Color Run, coordinate spirit shirts, work with Winters Middle School ASB, and assist with event setup and celebration.


    💰 Fundraising Committee
    Committee Lead: Holly Arredondo and Maria Bermudez
    Date: September 30–October 4, 2026

    Help make our annual Fun Run a success! Volunteers will assist with event preparation, organizing incentives and prizes, helping with fundraising activities, and supporting event day logistics. This committee plays a vital role in raising funds that support programs, activities, and events for our students throughout the year.

    Love school spirit? Help design, organize, and manage our school merchandise and spirit wear! Volunteers assist with inventory, sales, and creating fun new apparel and spirit items throughout the school year.
