VISA Requirements:
US Citizens: At this time no visa is needed. But beginning in April 2026, US citizens visiting parts of Europe are required to compUS citizens visiting parts of Europe currently do not need a visa. The European Union introduced their Entry/Exit System (EES) in October 2025 and it is now fully implemented at all ports of entry into any EU country.

The European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) is scheduled to go into effect sometime in 2027. We will advise further updates on the ETIAS when it goes into effect.

NON-US Citizens: Please contact the Embassy of the country that issued your passport for visa and/or EES requirements & assistance.

The ETIAS is not currently in place. The ETIAS is scheduled to be in place in 2027. You will be notified when/if the ETIAS become required for US citizens traveling to the EU.

Cruise Only: Plan your departure from the US on April 19, 2027 to arrive in Porto (OPO) on April 20, 2027. Embarkation begins at 3:00 PM on the ship. The cruise will conclude in Porto on April 27, 2027. All guests should disembark by 9:00 am.

Pre-Cruise Tour & Cruise: Plan your departure from the US on April 15, 2027 to arrive in Lisbon (LIS) on April 16, 2027. You will be transferred to the ship on April 20, 2027. The cruise will conclude in Porto on April 27, 2027. All guests should disembark by 9:00 am.

MOBILITY CLAUSE: A reasonable degree of mobility is required. Passengers may be required to ascend and descend flights of 12 or more stairs to board or exit the ship.

Persons with a walking disability, an injury, or who require a wheelchair/scooter or another mobility device, must have another dedicated person traveling with them to assist with their needs.

European Entry/Exit System (EES): The EES will register non-EU nationals each time they are visiting European countries. It will apply to those travelling for a short stay (a duration of up to 90 days within a 180 day period) on holidays or business trips. In most cases, the EES checks will take place in Europe – when you arrive at your destination airport or port, and when you leave at the end of your trip.

Travelers will have their fingerprints and photograph taken at a special kiosk and then have their passport processed. The system will then check the data against EU security databases. The EES went into effect in October 2025 and is fully implemented.

European Travel Information & Authorization System (ETIAS): I understand that I will be responsible for securing my travel authorization prior to departing the US. Starting about 6 months after the implementation of the EES, US citizens will be required to obtain ETIAS documentation for entering most countries in Europe. You will be notified of further updates when this goes into effect in 2027.
