80th Sail Past and Blessing of the Fleet 5th September 2026

Please RSVP below by Saturday 15th August
  • You are invited to join the fleet for the 80th annual Sail Past & Blessing of the Fleet!
Sail Past is the official opening of the SYC yachting season and a long-standing tradition. Sail Past and Blessing of the Fleet will transpire in front of the SYC Board, fellow SYC members and their guests, and distinguished guests.

    What Happens
All sailors in the club gather on-water outside SYC Main Beach to navigate their boats down the SYC Marina, along E arm, where they are saluted by the Commodore and blessed for the season to come.

How we sail from Hollywell to Mainbeach
The Squads will sail themselves the entire time (Inter/Open Optis, Cats, ILCA).
Junior Fleet will be towed in a daisy-chain the entire time.
Out There Fleet will sail down to Mainbeach and be towed through the procession, and sail back.
Important: If you're child does not feel comfortable sailing in 20+ knots, with 25+ gusts, from Hollywell to Main Beach and back, over 4-5 hours, this is not the day to test themselves as we have the entire club sailing and there is not enough support to tow individuals or assist constant capsizes. Alternatively, we may take them on a RIB. Please text me should you have any concerns 0497626552.
