Join Camp Zama Community Theater as we bring Disney's Newsies JR. to life!

Filled with unforgettable songs, exciting choreography, larger-than-life characters, and an inspiring story of courage and determination, Newsies JR. is an incredible opportunity for par of all experience levels.

If you're not wanting to be onstage, help us create the magic behind the scenes! We offer options for you to join at any experience level. From hanging lights, running backstage to swap a microphone, gliding sets across the stage in true ninja fashion, or creating the fashion we show onstage - then we have a slot for you.

Each department begins their processes at different times. Depending on your area of interest, the schedule will differ.

Rehearsal Schedule

Scenic Building: Saturdays 9a-4p (come for an hour or stay the whole day!)

Stage Crew: Needed at rehearsals beginning Oct. 12th through show dates Oct 25th.

Lighting Crew: Needed for installations (or running spotlights) beginning Oct 5th through show dates Oct 25th.

Wardrobe Crew: Needed at rehearsals beginning Oct. 12th through show dates Oct 25th. (help with quick changes!)

Audio Crew: Needed at rehearsals beginning Oct. 12th through show dates Oct 25th.
Who Can Join Crews?
Ages 10+
Due to more safety concerns than being an actor, crews require a slightly higher age cutoff.

Adults
Adults are encouraged to join with their children, or if your child is cast in the show we encourage volunteer hours in any of these roles to round out your family bonding experience!
Rehearsal (Crew) Expectations
Rehearsals will begin August 25th and go until the show opens in Oct 22. Not every crew member will be needed at the same time. As performances approach, rehearsal frequency will increase. Please contact us or your respective crew chief for specific scheduling as we progress.

Crew Members are expected to:
- Attend rehearsals regularly.
- Arrive on time and prepared.
- Communicate conflicts as early as possible.
- Wear all black crew clothes during final rehearsal week and show week.
- Work respectfully with fellow cast members and volunteers.
Conflicts, illnesses, and absences should be reported to the production team as soon as possible to zamatheatreproductions@gmail.com.
I understand that participation in Disney's Newsies JR. requires a commitment to regular rehearsal attendance, preparation outside of rehearsal, punctuality, and respectful participation. I recognize that every member is an important part of the production and that my attendance and effort directly impact the success of the entire show. I agree to make rehearsals and performances a priority, communicate conflicts as early as possible, and support a positive, collaborative environment throughout the production.
REHEARSAL CONFLICTS: Please list any known conflicts between August 24 and October 25, including vacations, sports, school activities, work, or other commitments.
