The WA Futures Camp will return to Ern Halliday Recreation Camp in Hillarys from Friday, 30 October to Sunday, 1 November 2026.
This three-day residential camp is designed to support the development of WA’s emerging judoka through a combination of high-quality judo training, physical challenges, athlete education and team-building activities.
Participants will stay onsite for the duration of the camp, providing a valuable opportunity to train, learn and build friendships with judoka from clubs across Western Australia.
What the camp will include
- Technical judo development and structured training sessions
- Randori and contest-related activities
- Physical challenges, outdoor activities and team building
- Athlete education sessions, including goal-setting and development pathways
- Opportunities to train with judoka and coaches from across WA
- Two nights of accommodation, meals and full supervision
The final program will be developed after expressions of interest have been reviewed. This will allow Judo WA to tailor the camp to the ages, experience levels and development needs of those interested in attending.
Eligibility
Expressions of interest are open to judoka who:
- Turn 13 to 20 years old during 2026, meaning they were born between 2006 and 2013
- Hold a minimum grade of orange belt
- Are current members of a Judo WA affiliated club
Indicative cost
The anticipated camp fee is $250 per participant. This is expected to include:
- Two nights of accommodation
- Meals and refreshments
- Judo training and athlete education sessions
- Outdoor and team-building activities
- Supervision for the duration of the camp
The final camp fee and payment arrangements will be confirmed when formal registrations open.
