Join us for a three-day program for people under the age of 35(ish) to explore what it’s like to be alive in this time of amplified crises and overwhelm. We gather to expand our sense of belonging, of possibility, of resource and resilience. Together we will create space to be real with what is, grieve, rage, play, dream big and have time with each other as humans and with the more-than human world. Through connection, reflection, and restoration we can more fully resource ourselves for the meaningful ways we can contribute to the change we want to see in the world.
This program includes a day-long pre-retreat for people under the age of 35 led by the Earth Leadership Cohort facilitation team beginning with dinner on the evening of Thursday, October 15th and going through the afternoon of Friday, October 16th when this pre-retreat group will then join a larger intergenerational Work That Reconnects weekend workshop facilitated by Lydia Violet.
Earth Leadership Cohort (ELC) facilitators Aravinda Ananda, Markie Babbott and Joseph Rotella have offered six ELCs in the past–an immersion in the Work That Reconnects tailored specifically for young adults. For this program, we are thrilled to have Alex Chambers, a 2025 ELC alum, join us as an assistant facilitator.
The Work That Reconnects is a transformative modality of group work that has supported countless participants time and again to be present with the heartbreak and outrages of what is happening to our world and each other, and move forward in empowered action. If you are feeling weary with the weight of the world, this may be just the space for you to recharge and reconnect with peers and with the self-healing powers in the web of life itself.
About the facilitation team:
Aravinda, Markie and Joseph have been working together since 2014. They have been on the co-facilitation team for six Earth Leadership Cohorts (ELC), two week-long Interdependence JAMs and have built the ELC program into an immersion for young adults in the Work That Reconnects and complimentary modalities. Markie and Aravinda co-authored a chapter on their experiences with ELC in the 2024 book Climate Change & Youth Mental Health: Multidisciplinary Perspectives, and Aravinda is one of the author-editors of the 2025 book Coming Together in the Great Turning Collective Liberation and the Work That Reconnects. This team enjoys working together and sharing this kind of work with younger adults and is passionate about bringing ecocentric, trauma-informed and collective liberation guided approaches into their facilitation. They are glad to be joined for this pre-retreat by Alex Chambers as an assistant facilitator who brings a wealth of experience with regenerative culture and good trouble-making.
