We are excited that you are interested in becoming part of the City of Hinesville Youth Council. Your willingness to serve is the first step toward making a meaningful difference in our community.

As the saying goes, "The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." For you, that journey begins with this application. We encourage you to take your time, read each question carefully, and provide thoughtful, honest responses that reflect who you are and why you want to serve.

Expectations & Requirements
Eligibility Requirements
- Reside within the city limits of Hinesville, Georgia.
- Attend a private school within the City of Hinesville, attend a public school of the Liberty County School System, or be homeschooled.
- Be in grades 9-12 during the term/school year
- Be in good academic standing and free of any serious disciplinary infractions within the last six months.
- Have a minimum GPA of 2.75.
Participation Requirements
- Commit to serving at least one full term of two years, unless student is a senior.
- Attend Swearing in Ceremony
- Periodically attend City Council Meetings during term of service. City Council Meetings are held on the 1st & 3rd Thursday of each month.
- Attend monthly Youth Council Meetings, which will begin at or near 4pm.
- Attend occasion community service events, youth conferences, and other development opportunities.
Term Specifications
- Generally, the term of the Youth Council shall fallow the Liberty County School System Academic Calendar with interview and qualification in summer months, service beginning following start of the school year and concluding in conjunction with the end of the school year. Total service shall be limited to two, 2-year terms with the exception of senior year members.

I understand that participation in community service projects, leadership events, and conferences is expected.
I understand that I am expected to serve a full two-year term unless I am a graduating senior.

Applicant Documentation
In 500 words or less, describe why you would like to serve on the Hinesville Youth Council. In your response, please share what you believe are the greatest needs facing youth in our community and explain how you would work with other Council members to help address those needs.
