Sign up for Pomona Power Up’s Appliance Giveaway!

We’re providing up to 180 renter households in Pomona with appliances to help you keep the air in your home clean and safe, reduce energy waste, and save money on utility bills. 

If we receive more than 180 signups, we will use a lottery system to randomly select which households receive the electric appliances. If you don’t get appliances through this initiative, we’ll add you to a waitlist. You may be eligible for other Pomona Power Up services in the future.

Please provide your proof of income

Pomona Power Up is available only to income-eligible renters who are at or below 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI) or 80% of the State Median Income (SMI) as shown in the table below. Applications will not be approved without proof of income documentation.

Examples of income documentation include:

• First two pages of your 1040 tax form
• Most recent W2 form
• A utility bill that shows you are enrolled in a CARE or FERA program
• CalFresh/SNAP
• Medi-Cal/Medicaid
• Welfare/State Benefits
• Bank Statements
• Signed letter from employer
• Signed letter from education institution’s financial aid office
• Tax exemption forms

What Pomona Power Up is providing to you

• Clean energy appliances valued up to $1,800.
• A support network to answer questions about how to use the electric appliances. 

*We are not able to offer any additional warranties, guarantees, or repairs on the appliances beyond what is provided by the manufacturer.

Requirements

• Do not give or resell the appliances. Pomona Power Up appliance recipients must keep and use the items provided to them. 
• Pomona Power Up participants must open and inspect their appliance packages immediately upon pick up and retain the original packaging. Any issues, damage, or missing items must be reported within one week of appliance pickup.
• Recipients certify that all income documentation submitted as part of this application is true, accurate, and complete.
• Recipients must provide a testimonial about their new appliances after 1-2 months of use. Testimonials can be in the form of voice memos, video interviews, or by speaking at an in-person Pomona ACTS community event.
• Recipients must consent to receive text messages, phone calls, and/or emails from Pomona ACTS about their appliances. Recipients can opt out of other Pomona ACTS emails at any time using the “unsubscribe” button at the bottom of our email messages.

Media Release  

• We are collecting testimonials, photos, and videos from program participants to help spread the word about Pomona ACTS. Photos and videos captured may be shared via social media, our website, email newsletters, media outlets and publications, and printed marketing materials.
• By participating in this program, you are consenting to and authorizing the use by The Energy Coalition (TEC), DayOne (DO), Latino & Latina Roundtable (LRT), its affiliates, directors, officers, agents, and employees of your name, image, voice, and/or likeness as follows:
• TEC/DO/LRT may take photographs, make audio-visual recordings, and create other works that include your name, image, voice and/or likeness (collectively, “Media”) while you participate in the Pomona ACTS appliance giveaway and share your experiences.
• TEC/DO/LRT will owns all media and has the unrestricted right to publish, copyright, re-publish, adapt, exhibit, perform, reproduce, edit, modify, make derivative works, distribute, display or otherwise use or reuse media in any and all mediums including but not limited to print, television, radio, and internet for any and all purposes, including use by third parties with whom TEC may engage in joint marketing, with no remuneration or compensation to you.
• You must assign and convey, without limitation, to TEC all the rights, title, and interest you may have in any and all media. By participating, you acknowledge receipt of good and valuable consideration in exchange for this release, including, but not limited to, your participation in Pomona ACTS.
• You must release, discharge, and acquit TEC from any and all claims, demands, or causes of action that you may hereafter have against TEC—whether for libel, violation of right of privacy, or anything else—by reason of the use of your name, image, likeness, or voice in connection with the aforementioned Media or publicity pertaining thereto.
