1. Campaign Speech
The MAXIMUM time is THREE (3) minutes per candidate. The time may be split between the candidate and the campaign manager or the total time may be used by the candidate alone. The candidate will be notified when they have one minute remaining. At the end of the three minutes the President will retake the position at the podium/microphone even if the speech is not complete.
2. Campaign Posters
Posters may be used but cannot be taped to the walls or furniture. Tripods or easels may be used BUT MUST BE supplied by the candidate. DO NOT ask the facility for use of tripods/easels as there is usually a charge for their use!
3. Campaign Literature
Handouts, fliers, banners, candy and all other trinkets may be used BUT it is the responsibility of the candidates to clear away any and all campaign materials used in their campaign at the end of the conference. Campaigning cannot take place until the day of the Rusty Pelican conference
Campaign materials CANNOT be taped to the walls or furniture.
4. Required Candidate Sign
Each candidate MUST bring with them a 12 inch by 22 inch poster (approximately a half of a poster board) with the office for which they are running for and their name. The campaign manager or a fellow HOSA member will hold the sign during the speech.
The poster may be any color BUT the name and office should be written in large clear letters that are easily read by the membership present. Place the name of the office at the top and the candidate’s name at the bottom.
